  1. I cannot really say that I am terribly surprised. After 8 years of Bush, it really is not too shocking to see some of the stuff that went on behind the scenes with the oil companies. Everyone knows that they were letting the oil companies do whatever the heck they wanted. So sad.

  2. Two years from now, after this blow out has been capped, the marshes, the beaches, the flora, the fauna, and the fish will all be fine. There will be little or no evidence that it had ever happened. And all you lefties will have your panties in a wad about something else.
Hopefully Obama will have been impeached by then and removed from office along with his fruit salad of an administration.

  3. patrick: are you out of your mind? The alaska coast that suffered in the exxon spill in 1989 still has oil all over it and that is a barren rocky coast…these marshes are going to have oil in them for decades to come, you are truly off your rocker.

  4. The Naib,
If it is true that the Alaska coast still has over all over it then why are the folks up there promoting tourism? http://www.valdezalaska.com/
I knew that oil spill was overblown two weeks after it happened when the news reported that it had spread to over a thousand square miles. If that report had been true then the thickness of the oil on the water would have been down to molecules and not visible, and that’s if no clean up had been taking place.
You may be able to find a few harmless tar balls here and there, but the place is pretty much as clean as it ever was and the fish and the birds are fine.
The oil companies are good. They provide good products: oil, gasoline, plastics, heat, electricity, etc.. Government isn’t so good. It gives us taxes, prisons, war, death camps, demagogues, dictators, paperwork, etc., but produces very little that we can use.
