A fairly depressing look at what happens when you throw trash into the ocean. As horrible as this problem is, it pales in comparison to the larger problem of global climate change. However the two are linked, if we stop using oil for plastics, and start using some sort of plant based biodegradable polymer, we can solve two problems at once. Plastic that breaks down in water is plastic that doesn’t cause giant floating patches of death.

The solution it would seem is to move away from a fossil fuel based life. Seems we are on a bit of a theme here today.
