This elephant was probably trained to do this, but the simple fact that it can remember how and that it was able to be trained to do this shows that humans are far from the only species on this planet who are intelligent.

Being a vegetarian for more than 10 years, this video is a reminder of what 24 years ago I felt in my heart: animals are just like us; inhabitants of this earth who have the same rights we have to live.
What a beautiful creature who reminds us of the glory of nature.
I hope he was not harm while being trained to do that!

I agree, I hope the elephant was not harmed in learning to do this. It appears from the background that perhaps other elephants are also painting. This is an incredible video. What beautiful creatures! But sad too. Elephants should be out being elephants.
