Obviously his argument is horribly wrong (as Olberman points out nicely), but the basic flaw of his argument is thus:
He states that gay marriage is going to cost us more because gay spouses are going to be a drag on health care, because the dude that was once just a dude is now a dependent. HELLO, wake up Steele, in straight marriage, that lady that used to just be a lady is now a dependent, that guy that used to just be a guy is now a dependent, by his argument STRAIGHT marriage is going to hurt the economy….
When you start hearing people give arguments like this, it is because they’re bigots, and are using anything they can grasp at to justify it. Gay people are people, if they want to get married, let them.
