Amazon Decimated (trees removed at twice the rate)

It seems the damage from logging is much worse than feared. Using a new image technique, NASA and Bazilian scientists have discovered that the damage is as much as 60% worse. Enough to release 25% more carbon into the atmosphere than previously calculated…enough to cause a ramp up in global warming. Could this be the reason that we are seeing such a sudden rise in artic ice melting, and hurricane formation?
