Two years ago around this time I posted the first entry on The Sietch blog. Several months before that I had cobbled together a heap of mess that pretended to be a website. The design was so horrid and layout so convoluted that I shudder to think about it. What started as one persons hobby, has grown into a multi person movement towards making the world a better place.
Here are some stats:
There are currently 1,270 posts and 1,558 comments, contained within 36 categories. That’s about two posts a day for 2 years.
We have multiple DIY projects, tones of examples of positive change, a slew of members, and a whole lot more.
When we started we got 20 visitors the whole first month, we now get about 2000 visitors a day. The site was running on mostly static html. As time passed I added a wordpress blog, a forum, and a heavy dose of php scripts. The site now gets about 50-70 thousand unique visitors a month, and has been featured on some of the biggest websites on the net.
I think the biggest change however has come from the involvement of other authors. We now have had many people contribute their thoughts, ideas, and work to making the world a better place.
Thank you so much to all the authors, readers, contributors, and well wishers that have kept The Sietch going for two years now. Without you this site would be the mad ravings of a single person talking to no one. The world is a better place because of all of you.
Lets hope the next two year are as interesting as the last two.
Thank you
Shane
The Naib
Well done us, but mainly, by a long shot, you Naib.
2 years has seen so much change in the way we view our planet. Things have got a lot worse, and will get even worse before they get better, if they get better. There must be a revolution, and that revolution will be possible because of sites like this.
