Things just keep getting worse for Trump:
The problem with Obama was that he was a very classy guy. He gave great speeches that made you feel great to be an american, he had a lovely family, he was a president that you could really feel proud about. But then as soon as he was behind closed doors, he killed people with drones, didn’t prosecute the bankers in fact he bailed them out, he took two wars and turned them into 7, he passed a right wing health care plan, and did nothing to address income inequality, and almost as little for the environment. He was a classy face on the ugly system.
With Trump you have the exact opposite, instead of a classy guy doing bad things in private, you have a horrible excuse for a human getting in front of a microphone and screaming the most repugnant shit. He is the ugly face on an ugly system.
As such he is galvanizing the resistance in a way that few others could. He is also making it hard on the corporate sell out democrats, they are going to be finding it even harder to trick an ever angrier left.
