I can only hope this spurs everyone to push hard for a shift to renewable energy. When a wind turbine fails it doesn’t fail like this, solar panels don’t explode, tidal energy doesn’t pollute marshes, etc etc.
Efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable design, or oil volcano…time to choose.
