I have still not decided who I will vote for but this makes a good argument for Obama. What do you think?

You say you don’t know who you’re voting for…yet you haven’t posted any Clinton stuff…you know damn well he’s the one to pick. I’m just nervous that the dems are going to fight amongst themselves too long to beat McCain.
This video says it – it’s about inspiration. For my vote, Obama is re-engaging parts of the population who have felt sooooo outcast, so apathetic, so disenfranchised. Him in office would boost civic engagement in a huge way, and he’ll be surrounded by people who make his inexperience a moot point. I know his ed advisor, for example, and she’s awesome :) Also, as a public school teacher, I see my students unable to speak in even tones because they are so overcome when they consider the possibility of having a leader who looks like they do, and who is talking on the tv about hope and change. For the first time, I hear them talking about politics during lunch, on break, coming off the bus. So many of the barriers they face are byproducts of hopelessness. Inspirational leadership, which the black community hasn’t had since the ’60s, is no small thing. Obama’s policies, like this video said, aren’t that different from any other mainstream democrat, which is disappointing…but the intangible stuff, the uplift in minority communities that his election might mean – that packs SO much power, and could lead to accomplishing all kinds of amazing things.
Plus:
1. Hillary will lose
2. Dennis told us to vote for Obama
Ralph Nader has engaged an exploratory committee into running as a 3rd party presidential candidate.
I know of the concern:
Q: But if Nader runs, isn’t he going stealing votes from the democrats?
A: It is cowardice to exploit the “spoiler” issue of the 2000 race (real evidence suggests that Nader actually helped Gore out by making him more attractive to moderates). It is time for Americans to have actual choice in their presidential candidates. If the green party gets just 5% of the national vote…they will qualify for federal election funds in 2012. This is a major step for the inclusion of a 3rd party for the presidency (Nader received 2.74% of the vote in 200).
I voted for gore in 2000. I voted for Kerry in 04. I WILL VOTE MY CONSCIENCE IN 2008, regardless if my candidate has an extremely small chance of winning.
Remember – Obama openly supports preemptive military strikes on nations. He wants to INCREASE our military forces by 100,000 (http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/08-hopefuls-would-grow-the-military-2007-05-02.html). He vows to continue the war in Iraq if “Al-queda establishes permanence in Iraq” (and of course why wouldn’t they if everything is according to the US military). He DID consistently vote to fund the war. He DID NOT vote for impeachment of Disk Chenny, something I know that is very hard for mainline democrats to wrap their heads around (which is very sad). So funding the war is courage?? He was not even present in the senate for the EXTREMELY Important vote on the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment (basically giving Bush a chance to attack Iran). So this is Obama’s Moral courage? I call it is naivety.
Oh but he is a amazing preacher….something that reminds me of the idolized Kennedy presidency (something I implore all to look into. I do not think someone who almost provoked a nucular war TWICE should not be idolized.)
I agree that Obama in the white house will change the path America is headed from the Bush presidency (mainly shifting concern to domestic policies) but it WILL NOT stop Americas continued track on Militaristic imperialism supported by both republicans and democrats.
And by the way, What is Obama’s stance on Israel. Is he a realist? And I quote: “My view is that the United States’ special relationship with Israel obligates us to be helpful to them in the search for credible partners with whom they can make peace, while also supporting Israel in defending itself against enemies sworn to its destruction.” When will a presidential candidate step back from our love affair with israel and understand the Palestinian conflict. It is time for Israel to own up to its problems. Oh and Nader’s response on Israel? http://www.counterpunch.org/nader10162004.html
And about the video. How can Obama be a true change for peace? How can peace be truly obtained when he openly advocates preemptive strikes, to increase troop levels by 100,000 and support the 300+ military bases located throughout the world. Ask yourself these questions. Why does the US consistent support our military presence throughout the world? Who are we afraid of, or more importantly why is our government formulating a false sense of security. There is a clearer way to peace, to actual peace.
Support Ralph Nader, an extraordinary man that has devoted his entire life to the wellbeing of every citizen in this country. A man that will bring actual FUNDAMENTAL change to our government. FUNDAMENTAL change that is drastically needed if America is going to become a globally unifing country. FUNDAMENTAL change that will bring a real end to the American war machine. He, unlike Barak, is not just a pretty face that we can feel good about.
I ask all to look into Ralph Nader as a man and as a VIABLE presidential candidate.

You do not have to support for Obama just because he is the prettier Clinton. Support the candidate that will bring actual change. Support Nader 08′.

But in the end, if Nader does not run, I will vote Obama in 08′.
