The first rule of the burrito project is you don’t talk about the burrito project. The idea of the burrito project is to make burritos and then ride around on your bike giving them away to people that need them. The reason why your not supposed to talk about it is because its not about getting famous, its about helping people. Which means I am breaking the first rule, but hey this is just too cool to keep to myself. In fact I like it so much I will actually link to their myspace page, because the idea is that good. (warning, myspace, abandon hope all ye who enter)

I have to admit that the idea of making food, then riding around town giving it away to people makes me happy all over. Biking is about the purest form of relaxation/most fun thing I ever do, combining it with a worthy cause elevates that fun to a whole new level.

Hi. My name is Allie Cook, and I’m a reporter for World on the Web, the online magazine of World Magazine. I’m working on a story on the Burrito Project. I googled and found your post. Would you be willing to answer a couple questions about your involvement?
I know, as you say, the Burrito Project is all about anonymity, and I am taking that into consideration as I write. Please let me know ASAP if I can e-mail you the questions to answer. Thanks so much.
For a group that isn’t supposed to get famous, the BP has been blogged a ton, and everyone’s showing off their BP cred.
All this for a project that is like a copy of the legendary Food Not Bombs, except without any political content.
I’m starting a Burrito Project in Santa Barbara. It’s so beautiful here but we have a LOT of homeless here.
Our first BP ride will be on Christmas Eve :)
