Monday Confessional

My upper lung cough thing is going away. I was only really sick for about a week. Now I just have an occasional cough. I attribute my speedy recovery to a mix of ridding my bicycle (nothing brings out the phlegm faster than ridding in the cold) and not ridding my bike and resting this weekend. It was so hard to stay inside and not go for a super long ride, it was so nice out this weekend. But I had to fight off the lung hack or else I would be all nasty for the rest of the week. Life is so hard sometimes.

Instead I spent my weekend building this. I needed a light for my bike, and I wanted something a little more geeky and unique. I have not tried it out yet, but the fact that the SpokePOV lets you put animations on your bike wheels should make me about the geekiest biker on the road.

Here is an example of what it “can” look like.

I am waiting on one last part that I wasn’t sent, but when it gets here I will be able to program words, animations, you name it INTO my wheels. I am pretty stoked.

And now that I am not hacking up my own lungs I can actually get out and do some more riding. I had an amazing ride today. It is a wonder what a full lung full of air will do for your performance. I felt like the wind, and only had to hack up a moderate amount of mucus. I will take the improvements where I can.

My mom and brother are going to be visiting me this week for the holiday, that means I will be away from the computer more than usual, I will try and keep up with the goodness, but it might be hard as I have to serve as tour guide.

In the mean time I found one more free book laying around, the first person to respond with a comment to this post with your favorite vegetarian thanksgiving recipe will get it.
