My days seem to be flying past so fast that its all I can do to grab on to each one and try and wring as much out of the day as possible. It has been about a week since Tess left for China. I can’t say that I am enjoying her being gone. Even when she lived 2 hours away from me, it never felt this far. Where she is in China is 12 hours different from me, so as get up each morning she is winding down her day. As I sleep she goes to school. We are separated by thousands of miles and half a day. It’s safe to say that I don’t like this setup at all.
I am trying my best to fill my time with as much work as possible to keep me distracted. The tactic seems to be working as I have been getting a lot done lately. Finishing up a couple of web projects that I am working on (and starting a new one), as well as working through the hiring process at work. We are recruiting a whole new crew for next year, including the replacement for my own job. Here is a job hunting tips. Know about the organization you are going to apply to, really know it. Research them, find out about them, ask questions before you go into the interview. It is unacceptable to not know anything about the place you want to work. Just throwing that out there.
It seems as if my life is coming to a decision nexus in the next couple of weeks. These seem to pop up every 12 months or so. You can feel it, the choices you make in this period will effect your life for months (years?) to come. My strategy so far has to hold on tight and ride life for all its worth. So far so good. I got up really early, so in the interest of keeping my crazy levels low I am off to sleep. I should have an interesting interview posted tomorrow. Stay tuned.
