Bringing you another round of renewable energy news that fell through the cracks. This roundup promises to be epic, hold on to your seats. Here we go!
Lets start off on a happy note, the great lakes could be dying because of human caused pollution. Being from Michigan I can tell you this would very much suck.
Lets try that again, some actual good news. The great dome at MIT got a solar face lift, and will not be able to be eco-illuminated using the massive power of the LED (can I get an EL EE DEEE!). Some anonymously nice person donated some solar panels to light up the dome all carbon neutral and stuff.
Want to turn $80 into $5000 almost risk free, plant a tree.
Power up your Hyrbid with a little solar panel action. For as little as $2000 you can be driving out town sucking up that good time solar energy. Nice.
Want a solar powered truck, no problem ZAP has got you covered.
I have talked before about the dangers of improperly sourced biofuels (made from food crops, or in places like cleared rain forest), well now it seems that people are getting killed by gangs over biofuel. Killing for our energy supply is nothing new, but it makes me sad that we have simply changed the type of fuel we are killing for. The next time we fill up our cars lets think long and hard about how that fuel got to us.
The prime minister of Australia may have a horrible record on the environment but that isn’t stopping Queensland from from spending over a billion Australian dollars on a climate change strategy.
Turning old bottles into hot showers. Pretty neat idea.
Jamaica has its own solar powered townhouse complex, nice to see solar power is spreading and spreading and spreading…
Try and follow this logic, OPEC is worried that if more and more countries try and kick the oil habit (using biofuels) they won’t bother going and searching for more oil (raising the price of oil). Is it just me or does this sound like good news? I see this as the crack dealer getting angry because we are going to rehab.
Fenosa is spending 600 million Euros (more than a billion dollars) to put up some serious wind farms in California. This will help California produce 20% of its energy from renewable sources by 2010 making it the greenest state in the union.
We’re number one! (U.S. continues to lead the world in wind power growth)
You know the green movement has arrived with an evil old coot like Robert Murdoch is talking about greening up his Newscorp.
Pineapple fields into solar fields. That’s a nice cash crop.
