Thank you very much to everyone that contacted your congress person here in Mass. The nasty people who wanted to enshrine discrimination into the Massachusetts constitution have failed once again. We must remain vigilant but it looks at this point as if its not going to happen.

“This issue is over,” state Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, said after addressing a rally of jubilant gay marriage supporters at the State House. “The vote we took today on the motion was the vote on gay marriage. In order to keep discrimination out of the constitution we voted to end this and move on to more important issues.”
Lawmakers yesterday voted 109-87 to recess the convention until Jan. 2 — the last day of this session. Observers predict the convention will adjourn that day without a vote, killing the proposed amendment.
