It seems that big companies are buying up lots and lots of other big companies and becoming monopolies even bigger companies. What the shit, soon everything will just be owned by wallmart and will be called “the store” and we will all work for and love our wallmart overlords. I kid around, but I honestly think that when it comes to companies owning all the radio/news/tv/internet companies in a town that the temptation to do naughty things is too big to resist. What is keeping you from making sure that only people you want to be elected get favorable news coverage, and only things you want to happen make it into the news at all…plus with only two or three huge conglomo’s owning everything what is to keep them from having a little back room meeting, figuring out how much profit each would like to make for the year, and then fixing all the prices from both ends.
