Trump Watch May 15 2017

Day 116:

We are being lied to so rich people can take our money:

The problem with the poor is not that they are stupid or lazy, its that they don’t have enough money.  Giving tax cuts the wealthy just makes their bank account bigger.  Giving money to poor people drives it right back into the economy.  It’s time to think about raising taxes on the rich, and greatly expanding the services we offer to citizens of this country.  15 dollar minimum wage, pay equity for women, shorter work week, medicare for all, paid parental daycare, free public college.  I would even go so far as to say with the rise in automation and the increase of productivity might demand something like a universal basic income.

Pope Francis says he will stand up to Donald Trump on immigration and climate change

Trump thinks he is a king:

He thinks he is above the law, doesn’t care a whit about going on TV and admitting to obstruction of justice, and doesn’t care at all about the citizens.  The list of his crimes is a mile long, but the single worse one so far is that he is denying climate change.  This is the same as murdering the entire future.  A horrific offense that makes his graft, insider trading, and business deals look petty. The sooner we all realize this the sooner we can put him in a jail cell.

Further Reading:

Trump is deleting climate change, one site at a time – The administration has taken a hatchet to climate change language across government websites. Here are several of the more egregious examples.
