You are not the champion of the poor.
The 999 tax doesn’t appeal to me either, but I don’t have to drag in the poor as a prop for my argument. 999 is basically another tax, a VAT (value added tax). I will be a bonanza for the government. And my opposition to it is based on my desire for less government and fewer government pigs leaning on everyone. If one doesn’t want to be poor, then quit drinking, and smoking, and gambling, and fornicating, and lawbreaking, and associating with lowlifes and fellow paupers. And get a job.
