Republican Party Becomes Anti-Science Party

Bob Ingliss apparently doesn’t know that it’s anathema to be a republican that accepts climate science.

Honestly its like this man is reading my mind, he is saying things I have typed on this blog..and he is a republican…at least for a while, he was knocked out by a far right tea party candidate.

Transcript:

INGLIS: I’m very excited to be here Mr. Chairman, because this is on the record. And it’s a wonderful thing about Congressional hearings — they’re on the record. Kim Beazley who’s Australia’s ambassador to the United States tells me that when he runs into a climate skeptic, he says to them, “Make sure to say that very publicly, because I want our grandchildren to read what you said and what I said. And so, we’re on the record, and our grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, are going to read. And so some are here suggesting to those children that here’s a deal: Your child is sick — this is what Tom Friedman gave me this great analogy yesterday — Your child is sick. 98 doctors say treat him this way. Two say no, this other way is the way to go. I’ll go with the two. You’re taking a big risk with those kids. Because 98 of the doctors say, “Do this thing,” two say, “Do the other.” So, it’s on the record.

And we’re here with important decision to be made. And I would also suggest to my Free Enterprise colleagues — especially conservatives here — whether you think it’s all a bunch of hooey, what we’ve talked about in this committee, the Chinese don’t. And they plan on eating our lunch in this next century. They plan on innovating around these problems, and selling to us, and the rest of the world, the technology that’ll lead the 21st century. So we may just press the pause button here for several years, but China is pressing the fast-forward button. And as a result, if we wake up in several years and we say, “geez, this didn’t work very well for us. The two doctors didn’t turn out to be so right. 98 might have been the ones to listen to.” then what we’ll find is we’re way behind those Chinese folks. ‘Cuz you know, if you got a certain number of geniuses in the population — if you’re one in a million in China, there’s 1300 of you. And you know what?

They plan on leading the future. So whether you — if you’re a free enterprise conservative here — just think: it’s a bunch of hooey, this science is a bunch of hooey. But if you miss the commercial opportunity, you’ve really missed something. And so, I think it’s great to be here on the record. I think it’s great to see the opportunity we’ve got ahead of us. And, I also — since this is sort of a swan song for me and Mr. Barrett I’d encourage scientists who are listening out there to get ready for the hearings that are coming up in the next Congress. Those will be difficult hearings for climate scientists. But, I would encourage you to welcome those as fabulous opportunities to teach.

This guy is only talking like this because he is on his way out. The people on the way in are almost all climate deniers.

Red states are thouse with a congress person who denies global warming.

To see a state by state break down, of who is the denier click here.

Well over half (55 percent) of the incoming Republican caucus are climate zombies. Thirty-five of the 46 (76 percent) Republicans in the U.S. Senate next year publicly question the science of global warming. Of the 240 Republicans elected to the House of Representatives, 125 (52 percent) publicly question the science.

Nearly all the rest of the Republicans in the 112th Caucus either signed the “No Climate Tax” pledge from the climate-denier Koch Industries front group Americans For Prosperity, the “No Cap-And-Tax” Tea Party pledge, or co-sponsored a resolution to overturn the EPA’s scientific finding that greenhouse pollution threatens the American public’s health and welfare.(via)

The republicans are not just the only party in America that deny the science of global warming, they are the only major party of any developed nation in the world to deny the science of global warming.

Indeed, it is difficult to identify another major political party in any democracy as thoroughly dismissive of climate science as is the GOP here. Eileen Claussen, president of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, says that although other parties may contain pockets of climate skepticism, there is “no party-wide view like this anywhere in the world that I am aware of.”

China believes in global warming, and that means that the market believes in global warming. That means that the longer America waits to get with the program the harder it will be for us to compete in that new market. In a very real sense it doesn’t matter if the science behind global warming is accurate (it is). Because if the entire world starts basing economic policy with the assumption that its real…its real.

If the entire world moves towards a “global warming” based economy, and we don’t they will simply excise us from the system. Our economy will fall apart, our land will be dirty, our air will be dirty, and we will be the outcasts of the world. Adapt or perish is the message that any one can see is written on the wall, and yet a vast number of newly elected congress people refuse to adapt, or even admit we need to adapt.

I have long believed in the expression “Americans get the democracy they deserve” meaning, we elect them, if they suck its our fault, or to put it bluntly, we are in big trouble and their is no one to blame but ourselves.

  1. Naib,
Are you not aware of those leaked E-mails that shows that all those so called climate scientists committed fraud in their promoting of the Global Warming scam? Did you not notice that every where Al Gore had a convention on Global Warming that there was record cold and snow?
The only people who are denying climate science are those who were pushing the Anthropogenic Global Warming nonsense and they are leftist grifters. Trus science doesn’t work for them.

  2. Liberals use the word science exactly as they use the word constitutional. Both words are nothing more or less than a general statement of liberal approval, having nothing to do with either science or the Constitution.

    Ann Coulter

  3. So my choice is, go with the evidence-backed scientific consensus, or believe some guy from freakin’ Atlantis?!…

    I’m with you, fish-man!

  4. There is no “evidence-backed scientific consensus”, Peter of Atlanta.
That’s one of the great character flaws of women’s studies majors, they mistake pretty graphs and visual aids for evidence, and they believe that the claims of a few mountebanks, who milk grant money from tax exempt foundations and tax wasting government, equal a consensus.

  5. global warming is like unto the flat-earthers
one day you wake up on the international space station and then become wise
one day you wake up knowing communism is behind the global warming scam
    :’)
