High Oil Prices, What To Do!?

People hate to read (sorry it’s true) so here are some videos.

What to do about high oil prices, drill offshore bitches!

(note: I love how they sorta use the like “chanting for Hitler” crowd noise, and imply that Obama is single handedly responsible for high oil prices)

However if you are not a moron, you would know that wont work.

So honestly it has nothing to do with how much we drill, the real answer is to STOP USING OIL! I suggest renewable energy…duh.

  1. A mere $4 a gallon, where the minimum wage is 50% more than the UK!? Trust me, this is just a light introduction to the future. Maybe oil prices will cause a reduction is usage – maybe they are just another excuse to drill for even more oil, or scrape it out of the tar and sand beds.

Who knows, and quite frankly, who cares?

Industrial Civilization is screwed – in its purpose and its execution. It’s time to step out of the system, people, and learn what really matters – how about living a life where *you* make your decisions, rather than the corporations or the politicians?

You are dependent on oil because you are dependent. Full stop.

  2. I love Keith’s comment above. Kind of intros mine really well as well.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day…

Why are we not teaching, in our schools, how solar energy works… how individuals can really do small things, every day, which if we all did them, would dramatically reduce our dependence on foreign oil?

The problem isn’t that there’s not enough oil. The problem is that we’re using oil.

Instead, both sides of the political spectrum (which really aren’t sides at all… just more of the same really) want to pass out rebate checks to ease the pain of poor, suffering people.

Give a man a fish, and you teach him that he has to come back to you for more fish, every time he is hungry.

I won’t be voting for Barack or McCain (or the crazy lady the green party gave their vote to). Will someone please get Ron Paul to run on the libertarian ticket?
