Ok, I can’t take full credit for finding this wonderful act of political art in the name of greenness. This artist is actually creating the skull motif on this highway tunnel by cleaning away the soot left by the cars as they pass through! Link. If anyone speaks Portuguese, I would love to know what the police are saying to him as he stands there “cleaning”. Of course, for more of the bizarre and strange green headlines, you ought to think about signing up for the Grist List updates here. I originally found out about it from Sietch member Dubbs.
On kind of a Positive Change note (and this actually is not going to be a musically inclined piece as my others), at the end of this week I am looking forward to spending time with this kid that I watch once a week. This kid is 8 and just full of energy with a wicked Worcester accent for sure! I found out about watching him from a friend of mine that was volunteering with AmeriCorps VISTA here in Worcester last year. There is a groups of parents that meet through a group called Parents Helping Parents, and my friend was asked if he could provide daycare services during the meetings. So, on the days he wasn’t able to help out, I did, leading me to meet the kiddo I now get to hang with weekly since my friend moved away. But you see, my friend is coming to visit this weekend so that we can take the kiddo out to a hockey game and they can catch up with each other. I can’t stress how awesome it is to be able to spend some of my time with this kiddo and just wanted to encourage others to maybe check out ways they can hang with kids. What a great way to spread some influence on the upcoming greenies!
