Well even though the hurricane season is “over” nature is like “fuck you bitches I feel like having another hurricane.” Tropical storm EPSILON is now our new friend Hurricane EPSILON. Also in the news, the “conveyor belt“, you know the giant ocean current that regulates the temperature of the earth, well yea its weakened by 30 percent in the last 12 years. This could lead to an ice age like scenario in northern Europe, and perma desert for much of north America.

When you consider that Britain is on the same latitude as Labrador in Canada, we should be living in a sub-zero freezer for most of the winter. But the Gulf Stream and the rest of the North Atlantic Drift delivers heat to northwest Europe equivalent to 1 million power stations, keeping us more than 5C (9F) warmer. Without this we would need icebreakers to keep our ports open and much of the country would be below –20C (-4F). The recent cold snap would seem balmy by comparison

Looks like maybe we should stop driving SUV’s and burning oil….or maybe this is Americas way of getting back at “old Europe”
